With 2021 off to a shaky start, we are yet again finding the resilience to get us through. And while we can’t control what’s happening around us, we can, in small ways, introduce tools in our daily lives to enable us to start thinking ahead. Investing in yourself in a way that will benefit you and your career is a small step towards this. The launch of a new Personal Brand and Virtual Styling workshop from whathappensnext aims to encourage professionals, business owners and creatives to shape their personal brand this year.
Brand You: The Personal Branding and Virtual Styling Workshop is a two-part online personal branding boot camp tailored to accelerate personal growth. Created by brand communications expert Leona McDaid and fashion stylist and author Annmarie O’Connor, the one-to-one virtual workshop enables participants to strategise their personal brand in a proactive and forward-thinking way. Participants will learn how to craft a strategy for their personal brand and then visually translate it into how they present themselves online and in real life.
Leona McDaid, founder of whathappensnext said; “Over the last number of months, I’ve been hearing stories from people who feel uncertain and perhaps stuck when it comes to their personal brand. For some, the last year has rocked their sense of selves and how they fit in the world. People are making life-changing decisions right now. We might have been stuck indoors for most of the last year, but that hasn’t stopped us from evolving. Many are now looking at their lives and see that changes need to be made. Some are rebooting their careers, either through necessity or by choice. While others are considering how they can finally secure that promotion, start their own business or embark on their second act and make the most of their life, on their terms.”
Author and stylist Annmarie O’ Connor added; “Look good; feel good. It’s not as easy as it sounds, especially in these uncertain times. With the bedroom now our boardroom, how we present ourselves in our careers has never been more important – or more tricky. Creating a strong visual message – both online and IRL – one that is in harmony with what you do and what you say is key to inspiring confidence both in you and in others. Dressing for ‘brand you’ needn’t require a complete wardrobe overhaul; just a clear understanding of who you are and where you are headed.”
